The Difference Between Life And Death: Preparing To Keep Your Family Alive And Thriving During A Long-Term Joe Biden Lockdown Of America Will Require Taking The Bull By The Horns

By Susan Duclos - All News PipeLine

Adding to the importance of not only being prepared by way of emergency survival food, water and other basic supplies, it is likely that we may soon have to contend with an administration that under the guise of "COVID-19" safety, is prepared to shut the entire nation down, indefinitely.

Note: While I am not counting the lawsuits by the Trump campaign out, I do believe that getting serious about indoor gardening and survival shouldn't be undertaken at the last possible moment, because indoor gardening does not automatically offer an immediate supply of fresh foods.

For those in cold weather climates, Winter is hitting hard and furiously and outdoor gardens are no longer feasible, while in warmer climates with the changing of seasons come a change in what foods are planted outdoors.

With indoor gardening, adding a little canned or freeze dried meats into homegrown vegetables, and having a constant supply of fresh fruits, can keep the bellies full when food supply at the grocery store is limited, as we are seeing reports of happening now.

We have often linked to a number of survival foods that can be delivered, from fresh meats, to canned or freeze dried meats, fruits and vegetables, and even have an ANP Still/Back in stock page which is updated frequently, so for those items, just visit that page, as this article is about growing our own foods to supplement what is already in our supply storage.

SPROUTS  & PROTEIN POWDERS

Sprouts are often referred to as a "miracle food," as they may not be overly filling, the nutrients, depending on what you are sprouting, are amazingly beneficial, and sprouts can be added to sandwiches, stews, soups and salads, just to name a few ways to utilize them.

Sprouts are also extremely easy to grow.

There are kits available that are perfect for someone with limited space.

Personally I have found that using some regular mason jars, or even any jar you have saved, along with some cheese cloth, or any material that allows liquid to flow through it, works just as well.

You throw whatever seeds you have chosen into the jar. Soak them for 12 hours, then drain and rinse. Leave jar with cloth on top held on with a rubber band or yarn, or any string, tipped over upside down to drain.

Rinse and drain twice a day and within days in many cases, you have a nutrient rich addition to any food you are making.

Another thing that is very important, as communicated with my by Steve Quayle for a previous piece from 2019, is protein powders.

They truly can be the difference between life or death if their is no ability to just up and run to the grocery store, if grocery stores are still open in your area.

Remember: In New Mexico, state leaders ordered a number of grocery stores closed after employees got sick, leaving many forced to find another store in their town or in some cases having to find an open store in another town, just to buy food to eat.

From organic, plant based, to flavored powders, to gluten free whey powders, to any other number of powders available, one can accumulate enough to last years, or even a decade using a limited amount of space for storage.

A quick note. While we linked to the protein powders at Amazon above, and they do have a wide range of variety which regular stores cannot match, the Amazon powders are a little more expensive than those from health stores, grocery stores or other places that sell them.

GROWING YOUR OWN FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

There is a lot to be said for growing your own fruits and vegetables, year round. You know what is in them, you know when they were picked (and if you can them, you know what is and isn't in those cans by way of preservatives, etc), and you know the type of soil and fertilizer that is used, among other reasons.

Another critical reason to get your indoor gardens going, if you haven't already, is this much talked about "Dark Winter" that we keep being warned about.

The fact is, Biden's team has already indicated they are looking at a nationally mandated country-wide forced lockdown, for four-to-six weeks.

Does anyone doubt that even though they are saying four-to-six weeks, it will end up being far longer, because once they control the populace to that point, they will continue to strip Americans' freedoms.?

So... if you haven't already started getting your indoor gardens going, now is a great time to start.

Below are some basic items needed for a thriving garden, grabbed from a previous ANP piece:

First things first, learn as much as possible. There are great books for indoor gardening beginners:

There are way too many options regarding planters, pots, grow kits, soil, fertilizer, etc... so HERE IS THE SEARCH PAGE, because each individuals needs are different.

Don't forget your grow lights if you live in a cold weather climate and sitting on your windowsills aren't enough light to grow your indoor gardens.

Another method, depending on your preference, would be hydroponics:

Hydroponics is a method of growing nutritious sprouts and other greens and vegetables that doesn't require soil. While researching this method, we were amazed to see how many different herbs, vegetables and greens can be grown using a hydroponics system. Lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach and much more can offer decent yields, with no messy soil or the need for a full outside garden, and they can be grown all year round.

While the systems themselves range from larger hydroponic growing systems, to smaller ones for those that take up much less space, we found the majority of them to be relatively inexpensive.

The great part of being able to grow sprouts, vegetables, fruits and greens indoors using hydroponics is that one is not limited by season or weather and can be harvested more rapidly than traditional gardening. The best part is using non-GMO seeds and growing your own food, you always know exactly what is in the food you are eating and how fresh it is.

With the massive amounts of food recalls in recent years due to listeria, salmonella and ecoli, growing your own food is also safer.

MILLIONS DEALING WITH FOOD INSECURITY

With food insecurity doubling during the COVID-19 shutdowns, and Feeding America saying that one-in-four children in the U.S. may be suffering from hunger by the end of 2020, millions are already scrambling to feed themselves and their families.

Those are the reports and numbers before the next round of shutdowns, to which if Biden advisors have their way, would compound the problem exponentially by mandating it nationally.

Stores are already limiting the purchase of some items like toilet paper, cleaning supplies and hand sanitizers, but as we documented before and during the last round of lockdowns, meats, frozen foods and produce shelves also started emptying pretty fast, so we already know what is coming, simply by learning the lessons of the first lockdowns.

Had more prepared before the pandemic, the food insecurity and children going hunger could have been massively minimized.

Note: I hope folks will take that in the manner I meant it. I am not trying to "victim blame" those going hungry right now, because frankly had the media done its job instead of playing politics, Americans suffering from hunger, lining up at food banks and free food giveaways, would have at least had some time to prepare for the calamity that hit them.

BOTTOM LINE

We have been and are proponents of prepping, and with so many going hungry, along with the proposed "dark winter," and extended lockdowns nationally, as well as the fact that stores are still not back to completely full shelves, nor the amount of variety seen before the lockdowns, the more people that get going now on growing, sprouting, and prepping, the less that will feel hunger for themselves and their families in 2021.
